League of Women Voters of DeKalb County Elects New President

Belinda Pedroso was elected President of the League of Women Voters – DeKalb County at their Annual Meeting.

 

Belinda Pedroso assumed her role as the new President of the League of Women Voters of DeKalb County at the Annual Meeting during April 2009.   Ms. Pedroso is a long standing resident of DeKalb County, having moved to Atlanta in 1996.

By profession, Ms. Pedroso is an accomplished Investment Banker and Financial Consultant.  She possesses over 20 years professional experience in public finance and public policy.  She currently serves as the CEO of Ascension Financial, Inc a financial consulting firm that she began in 2004.  As a full service financial consulting firm, Ascension Financial, Inc. provides a comprehensive range of analytical services to municipalities, private companies and individuals.  These services include debt management, bonding advisory, technical financial assistance and equity infusion.   Ms. Pedroso is a licensed security representative, earning the General Securities Series 7 & 63 licenses and the Municipal Principal Securities Series 53 license.

 

Ms. Pedroso is also an active member and volunteer in the DeKalb County community.  She serves on the DeKalb County Green Commission, Board of the Metro United Way –DeKalb County, is currently a member of Leadership DeKalb, the Junior League of DeKalb County and the Whitehouse Project.   She was featured in Who’s Who in Black Atlanta in 2005, inducted into the Y.W.C.A. Leadership Academy, recognized by the Girl Scout Council of Middle Georgia for Outstanding Leadership and recognized by Outstanding Young Women of America. 

 

Ms. Pedroso is a graduate of Howard University.  She pursued post- graduate work at Georgia Institute of Technology and a second Master’s degree at the New School for Social Research in New York City.
